Guardamar del Segura is situated in that part of Spain which has some extraordinary scenery. This region also has many beaches which are sandy and covered by big forests of pine trees. The objective behind the plantation of this pine forest was to prevent an ecological disaster caused by the drifting dunes in the area and this forest was planted here in the start of the 20th century.Guardamar del Segura is known to be a tourist paradise for the sandy and beautiful beaches. The famous beaches in the area are El Camp, Els Toosals and La Roqueta. The beaches located in the center are busy while the rest of the beaches are less crowded and comparatively more peaceful.

Los Tusales beach, also known as Els Tossals, is among the nudist beaches in the area and this beach was also awarded with the status Q which means this beach has some very good quality services for visitors.La Gola del Segura is a beautiful and natural setting,  located at the opening of the Segura river, and it is situated near the port of the Guardamar del Segura which is also known as Marina de Las Dunas. This marina is well equipped with all kinds of water sports activities for tourists including skiing, sailing and surfing.

Guardamar del Segura is a perfect destination for golf lovers as there are many golf courses in the area. You will find almost five courses within the area of twenty kilometers and La Marquesa is the nearest golf course with eighteen holes.Laguna de La Mata is a beautiful natural park located south of Guardamar del Segura and you will find many varieties of the aquatic birds in this park. Alfonso XIII and Ribera del Rio are the other famous parks which have good tracks for bicycling and you can also enjoy some healthy sports there as well.

Guardamar del Segura is also known for retaining ancient traces of many civilizations including that of the Phoenicians. You must visit the archaeological museum to see the historical remains of the civilizations like that of the Phoenicians and the Iberians. Dama de Cabezo is the statue which was found here and it is known to be among the most important findings in the area. Guardamar del Segura is also famous for its sea food and some delicious rice dishes.
